Day 1: Blue Lagoon & Seaside Villages

On arrival to Keflavik Airport in Iceland, your rental car awaits you, and with less than 20 minutes of driving you’ll be at your first recommended stop—the Blue Lagoon. After a relaxing dip in the soothing geothermal waters you’ll feel refreshed and ready for the adventure ahead!  Explore the moon-like landscapes of Reykjanes Peninsula including hot springs at Seltún geothermal area and the mysterious Lake KleifarvatnFrom there, continue to the lovely seaside villages of Eyrarbakki and Stokkseyri, home to the Elves, Trolls and Northern Lights Museum. End the day in the Selfoss area.  Driving distance: 120 km / 75 miles.

Day 2: Glaciers & Black Sand Beaches

Start the day with a drive to Seljalandsfoss, a beautiful waterfall with a walking path behind its cascade. Continuing on to the Skógafoss waterfall, you’ll pass by the infamous yet captivating Eyjafjallajökull glacier. Near Skógar, you also have the option to hike a short trail leading to the edge of the Sólheimajökull glacier where it descends the highlands. Then continue on to the charming coastal village of Vík, famous for its black sand beaches of Reynisfjara and the dramatic rock formations of Dyrhólaey and Reynisdrangar off its coast. Driving distance: 260 km / 161 miles.

Day 3: Golden Circle & Reykjavik

Today you’ll see some of Iceland’s most popular natural wonders on the renowned Golden Circle route, beginning with a short drive from Selfoss to the dormant Kerið caldera. Then head to the one-and-only Geysir geothermal area at Haukadalur and on to the Gullfoss, Iceland’s most iconic waterfall. Your next stop is Laugarvatn, an unusual lake with subsurface hot springs. Here, we recommend a relaxing stop at the Fontana thermal baths before heading to Þingvellir National Park, the ancient grounds of Iceland’s Parliament—the oldest in the world. Finally, end your journey in Reykjavik, Iceland’s lively capital, where we suggest a stroll around the historic city center after you’ve settled in to your accommodation. Downtown Reykjavik offers a wide selection of cafes, shops, restaurants and nightlife venues to suit all tastes. Driving distance: 190 km / 118 miles.

Day 4: Departure

Today, it’s time to head home after your whirlwind tour of South Iceland. If your flight is in the afternoon, you can spend the morning exploring one of the many museums, art galleries or shops in the city. You might also enjoy a short whale watching tour from Reykjavik’s old harbor or a tour of the city’s brand new Harpa concert hall.

We‘ve partnered with one of Iceland’s most reliable and efficient car rental agencies to offer top-notch service and a great selection of high-quality, dependable vehicles.

Automatic cars are available on request for an extra fee in types A, B and C. Please contact us for prices.

All rentals include a standard insurance policy with Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), unlimited mileage, GPS, free in-car unlimited wi-fi, two drivers and Icelandic VAT @ 25.5%. Fuel or oil is not included.Optional insurance upgrades, additional drivers and child seats are available and payable locally at the car rental office.

Collecting Your Vehicle

On arrival to Keflavík Airport, a representative of the car rental agency will be waiting for you at the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name on it. You and all travellers in your party will then be shuttled to the car rental office, just a 1 minute ride from the airport. There, you will complete all paperwork and choose among optional services or upgrades before collecting your vehicle. On the day of departure, you will return the vehicle to the same car rental office at Keflavík Airport.

A valid credit card is required by the car rental agency, and a credit card imprint will be taken at the time of vehicle collection for security reasons. Your voucher covers the cost of the rental, but the imprint may be used to deduct any extra charges due to use or damage of the vehicle.

Please note: If your departure flight is more than 2 hours later in the day than your arrival flight, your car rental period will exceed the number of days included in your holiday package. In such case, we would need to charge for an extra day with the rental car. Contact us for details.

After booking a holiday package with, you will be contacted by email within two working days by your designated travel consultant, who will assist with your booking and serve as your point of contact for any travel needs during your stay. The email will include the full name and direct contact information for your travel consultant along with information about your booking, payment and what to expect during your holiday.

We recommend booking at least three weeks in advance.

Delivery of travel documents

Travel documents will be delivered as follows:

  • At time of deposit payment: You will receive the pro-forma invoice by email.
  • Within 30 days of deposit payment: You will receive the full itinerary by email.
  • At time of full payment: You will receive the confirmation invoice and all vouchers by email.
  • Before your arrival*: Road map and information booklet about driving in Iceland will be sent by post

Please note that we must use the billing address of the credit card holder as the shipping address for the road map and information booklet. *If the package is booked less than one month in advance of departure, you will instead receive these items at your first accommodation in Reykjavík.
